Hot Fun, Hot Mess!

We started today at the Quarry near Havana, FL. At the Quarry, our SciGirls were able to sift through 15 million year old rocks, fossils, and remains. The girls were able to keep whatever treasures they found. Some of the favorite finds were crocodile and shark teeth, stingray teeth, bones, oyster shells, and clam shells. The girls also enjoyed the stunning view, as it was truly breathtaking. Temperatures soared, girls explored, and persevered through the heat!
After lunch in the van, we ended up at Wakulla Springs! The girls were able to cool down by jumping in the springs. Some girls were brave and jumped off the high platform plummeting into the cold spring water.
The last part of our day was a river boat tour of the Wakulla River. We saw many creatures including alligators, manatees, turtles, osprey, blue and white herons, and many other species of birds.

It was a fantastic Friday and a great end to an adventurous week! All SciGirls are grateful for the weekend, but exciting for another week ahead.
