We knew you couldn’t stay away! Today we pondered whether or not to film the sequel to Dances with Wolves. Two problems – no Kevin Costner and the location was the SeaCrest Wolf Preserve found in the panhandle of Florida. However, because girls of science are amazingly awesome, we decided to create our own amateur presentation featuring many pint sized friends in supporting roles. Of course every production needs a star and sometimes those stars have to share top billing. Hoping to garner much attention from our viewing audience, we present Mishka and Yeti (two 3-month old Arctic wolf pups.) Let’s just say that dancing with wolves, sitting with wolves, and howling with wolves all involve a skill set that is definitely superior to that required to simply pet a dog. This wolf preserve was created with the hopes of protecting the dwindling wolf population found within the US. A special thanks to Wayne and Cynthia Watkins who provide valuable educational insight into the influence of wolves within the prosperity of our natural environment. If you ever have the chance, we Sci Girls encourages you to visit the Wolf Preserve and see our newly named baby skunk "Flowers". Tune in tomorrow as we finish the first week of camp seeking our own Jurassic World!
